Get Involved
You might be looking to get a greener thumb, to share your gardening knowledge or connect with some like-minded people in your community. Getting involved in Altona Community Gardens is a great to way to get your hands dirty and join the community.
We also understand that actual gardening is not for you but you'd still love to be active in the community. Our community garden is much more than soil and vegetable gardening. We also need wonderful people filled with ideas, financial wizards, grant writing gurus, fabulous photographers or knowledgeable networkers.
We certainly can use your skills for a task or project in the gardens and would love to have your help.

Working Bees
Now that the garden site is officially open, there is lots of work to be done on site to keep it growing. Each month on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be a 3 hour working bee that we invite you to come along and get involved.
If you aren't a member yet, it's a great chance to come and meet other people in the community and help out in the garden. It's the perfect time to decide if you'd like to be a financial member of the gardens and perhaps get a plot of your own.
Keep an eye on social media for the dates and times of the next working bee onsite. RSVP and ask your questions when we post the events on Facebook.
